The last few weeks have been unusually difficult emotionally for me – trying to grasp my feelings of deep sorrow, grief, a sense of loss, and a lack of hope. A profound sense of the inablity to do anything to make a difference. A lack of hope is the biggest concern as these emotions aren’t just mine. Despite being blessed in life, the upheaval that has gripped this country is just plain sad. What will the future hold? Will there be change FOR THE GOOD? The witnessing of hatred, anger, blame, crime, and again hopelessness is overwhelming. The posts on social media are in some cases just down right wrong. We have demonstrated in the streets but have we changed hearts, have we changed minds, have we educated, what have we accomplished? For me – I am making it my mission to show love and acceptance to everyone but I will not condone violence. I am the one who created the website Moms Against Gun Violence. I can tell you that the push back to that simple desire had negative posts by those wanting to arm all teachers. WHAT — that wasn’t my message. Vote— that is your voice and mine…get involved in the process that is broken. Make a difference each day — I try.
