You have Arthritis and guess what?  You along with over 50 million others.  It is the #1 chronic pain condition diagnosed in the US and the leading cause for the need for joint replacement.  It is the #1 cause of disability among seniors.  With the aging population exploding in the US, the need for treatments will far surpass the ability to treat such conditions in a timely manner by specialists. 

2024 finds the US in a milestone point in history – more people will be turning 65 this year than EVER BEFORE.  https://www.kiplinger.com/retirement/turning-65-key-things-to-know.  4 MILLION will turn 65 this year – the largest in US history.  1 in 6 are now 65 or older.  Have you thought about how that will impact our society.  Think about it — from medicine, to doctors, to housing, to senior care, to infrastructure, to transportation, to health and beauty, to clothing designs, to travel.  We are seeing it already.  Just look at the housing boom aimed at attracting retirees in states like Florida and Delaware.  I know first hand the explosion. 

But first let’s just take the health care system and the need to address arthritis and other auto-immune diseases.  With a health care crisis in the US… many diseases can be managed  and even prevented by a better diet.   And I am not just talking about fruits and veggies.  I am talking about the core of our food supply.  The soil, the water, the fertilization, the pesticides, the processing.  It is all part of the picture.

I have arthritis and I know what triggers pain in the joints which I will share with you some of the triggers.  First, understand each body is different so what triggers my join pain might not trigger yours. I am highly sensitive to scallops…yep – eat ‘em and I get gout.. a form of arthritis.  Sugar another trigger causing my hand pain.  Some other triggers are:

  • Dairy
  • Tomatoes,
  • Eggplant
  • Peppers
  • Potatoes (white)
  • GMO foods – wheat soy, corn
  • MSG
  • Sugar substitutes
  • Nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, etec
  • Alcohol

Foods that HELP joint pain:

  • Green leafy veggies – spinach
  • Broccoli and Cauliflower – also helps prevent breast cancer
  • Green Tea
  • Berries (organic)
  • Tart cherry juice – anti-inflammatory
  • Olive Oil
  • Avocados
  • Omega3 rich foods – fresh wild caught salmon
  • Organic whole grains – brown rice and quinoa
  • Vitamin C foods and supplements
  • Walnuts, almonds, and seeds
  • WATER – MUST drink ½ your weight in ounces
  • EAT ORGANIC whenever possible
